BEHIND THE SCENES: collecting history on Hatfield's multi-generational farms
We love to listen
Family members tell great stories, and the chance to hear stories in their own words is a real treat – one we are happy to share! Even better would be to hear different generations of the same family weigh in on the same topics. Going forward, and perhaps supported by a grant to celebrate local agriculture, we'd love to do this!

Many people helped to seek out and interview the families represented here, which represent only some of the farming farms in Hatfield. We are grateful to the following for helping to contact families and gather in the stories and images here:
= Marcia Wojewoda, Kathie Gow, Rob Wilson and Marion Abrams for promoting this project and gathering info.
- Bob Wagner, the American Farmland Trust, Gordon Williams, Kevin Gutting and the Daily Hampshire Gazette for supporting agriculture and for letting us use their photos or video.
- John Pease, Kathie Gow, Elizabeth Denny, and Monica Vachula for conducing interviews.
Thanks to the student authors of the following Foxfire reports, which we used to help research this topic:
